Antique (1864-1919) 18K Gold & Rhodolite Garnet Shirt Fasteners/Cufflinks

Spectacular antique Austria/Hungary made 18 karat gold and Rhodalite Garnet shirt fasteners or cufflinks. This pair does not match exactly, but was acquired in this beautiful old box in which they fit perfectly. The gold markings identify Vienna as being the city of assay. They are both magnificent
.39 ct. (.78 ct.tw.) Rhodolite Garnets that are bezel set into amazing hand engraved shirt fastener/cufflinks mountings. Under magnification, the Garnets show some minor wear. The cufflinks diameters are 5/8" and 1/2". These were loved, and worn....oh, if they could only talk! What stories they could tell! We acquired these from a very fine, unusual, jewelry estate. These are quite mysterious, and the design is rare. They are in excellent condition for their age. These fine pieces are in great ready to wear condition. Even though these were probably intended for a fine gentleman, they would be beautiful for a woman too. Simply gorgeous!
